Please read these terms carefully before placing an order.

By placing an order with DuPiT Bristlenose & Plecos, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not place an order.

1. Business Details

  • DuPiT Bristlenose & Plecos is a private business based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.

  • All sales are conducted in Australian Dollars (AUD).

2. Orders & Payment

  • All prices are in AUD and are subject to change without notice.
  • Payment is required in full at the time of ordering.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any order and issue a full refund if stock is unavailable.
  • By completing an order you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older, or have parental/guardian consent.

3. Shipping

  • Pick-up from the Sunshine Coast is the preferred option where possible.
  • Shipping is available to buyers in Queensland and New South Wales who are not based on or near the Sunshine Coast.
  • All orders are dispatched on Mondays only via express post.
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable once dispatch has occurred.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by Australia Post or circumstances beyond our control.
  • Risk of loss or damage transfers to the buyer upon handover to the courier.

4. Live Fish — Dead on Arrival (DOA)

  • In the event of a dead-on-arrival fish, you must contact us within 2 hours of delivery.
  • You must provide a clear photograph of the fish still inside the sealed, unopened bag.
  • DOA claims made after 2 hours, or without photographic evidence in the original sealed bag, cannot be accepted.
  • We will assess valid DOA claims and offer a replacement or store credit at our discretion.
  • We are not responsible for fish deaths occurring after the 2-hour DOA window, due to incorrect water parameters, poor acclimation, or incompatible tank mates.

5. Returns & Refunds

  • Due to the live nature of the product, we do not accept returns of live fish.
  • Refunds are only issued in circumstances where we are unable to fulfil an order (e.g. out of stock after payment).
  • Any approved credit or refund will be processed within 5 business days.

6. Buyer Responsibility

  • You are responsible for ensuring your aquarium is properly set up and cycled before ordering live fish.
  • You must be available to receive your delivery on the expected delivery day.
  • You are responsible for correct acclimation of fish upon arrival.
  • You must ensure compliance with any state or territory regulations regarding the keeping of fish species you order.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, our liability is limited to the value of the goods supplied.
  • We are not liable for any consequential, indirect, or special damages arising from the purchase or use of our products.
  • Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Privacy

  • We collect personal information only as necessary to process and deliver your order.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as required to fulfil your order (e.g. shipping provider).
  • By placing an order you consent to our collection and use of your personal information in accordance with these terms.

9. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
  • Any dispute arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
