By placing an order with DuPiT Bristlenose & Plecos (“we”, “us”, “our”) you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before purchasing.
1. Orders & Payment
- All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.
- Full payment is required at the time of ordering.
- We accept Visa, Mastercard (via Stripe), PayPal, and direct bank transfer (local pickup only).
- We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion and will refund the full amount paid.
- Orders are not confirmed until payment is received and processed successfully.
2. Live Fish — Shipping & DOA Policy
- We guarantee live arrival when fish are shipped according to our Shipping Policy.
- Dead on Arrival (DOA) claims must be submitted by email to [email protected] within 2 hours of confirmed delivery.
- Claims require a clear photograph of the deceased fish in the unopened, sealed bag.
- Valid DOA claims will be offered a replacement fish or store credit of equal value.
- Cash refunds are not provided in place of replacements unless the species is permanently out of stock.
- We are not liable for losses resulting from improper acclimatisation, unsuitable tank conditions, disease introduced from existing livestock, or courier delays beyond our control.
3. Shipping Restrictions
We do not ship live fish to Western Australia or Tasmania due to state biosecurity and quarantine regulations. Orders placed from these states will be cancelled and refunded in full. Customers in WA and TAS may arrange local pickup only.
4. Local Pickup
- Free local pickup is available from the Sunshine Coast, QLD by appointment only.
- Contact us by email before placing your order to confirm availability and arrange a time.
- Fish will be bagged fresh on the day of your pickup appointment.
- Cash or bank transfer accepted for pickup orders.
5. Cancellations & Refunds
- Order cancellations requested before the dispatch Monday will be refunded in full.
- Cancellations after fish have been packed for dispatch cannot be accommodated — fish welfare requires that packed fish are shipped as planned.
- Change of mind refunds are not offered on live animals once an order is confirmed.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, our liability is limited to the replacement value of the goods ordered. We are not liable for consequential losses including but not limited to:
- Loss of or damage to other aquarium livestock
- Damage to aquarium equipment or property
- Loss of income or business interruption
7. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded by contract. If your consumer rights are broader than what these terms provide, your statutory rights prevail.
